About ThreatInformer

ThreatInformer is a cyber technology start-up, building real-time data collection and analysis tools in order to deliver world class data to the cyber insurance industry. Our mission is to be Number 1 provider of cyber insurance risk globally.

Founded in 2016, ThreatInformer was soon recognized as a high potential company by CyLon, Europe's first cyber security accelerator. Since then we have built relationships with some of the UK's largest insurance firms, and our data is being used to sell and price insurance policies.

We provide real-time data solutions built using AWS, with a focus on serverless computing and micro-services. We are a remote working team, looking for new members who are creative problem solvers and take initiative.

About You

You are an excellent professional developer. You are experienced and ambitious and looking to work on interesting projects within a growing start-up. You can build robust, scalable services regardless of the languages or technologies being used.

You're humble, collaborative, and afraid to challenge your peers. You are flexible when discussing different approaches to solving problems and you are concerned about being part of a top-class engineering team tackling difficult problems in an emerging market.

There is an option for the role to develop and include team management or product management responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

• Design and build highly available (24x7) services and system components that will support rapid growth in the next few years.
• Contribute to the technical design and implementation of new features and system components
• Deliver maintainable, consistent, well-tested code.
• Drive scalability and performance with our data collection and modeling codebases.

Core Skills:

• Strong object-oriented design and programming skills in Python.
• Experience building and configuring solutions in Amazon Web Services, including Lambda, IAM, S3, and CloudWatch
• Experience writing and optimizing SQL.
• Experience building RESTful APIs.
• Collaborative, self-motivated, fast learner that is comfortable with uncertainties.
• Willing to take on project ownership and lead other developers.
• Good English, written and spoken.

Additional Skills:

• Basic understanding of cyber security / network protocols.
• Experience in projects within the insurance or financial services sectors.
• NodeJS.
